The Kinetic Kine is a small yet elegantly styled moped cum scooter cum anything else you may want to call it. The best part is that it is really manageable for anyone driving it around. The looks of the Kinetic Kine are a pure cultural stunner and it reminds you of one of those amazing Italina movies set out somewhere in the Tuscan countryside where the heroine comes riding around on a small scooter like the Kinetic Kine and you fall in love with her instantly. This is not to say that the Kinetic Kine is somehow a feminist attribute when it comes to a road worthy drive around device with convenience. The overall look is very common all around India now such that you will find it running all the way from Ahmedabad to Amritsar to Calcutta to Cochin and all around the countryside. The weight is next to nothing on the Kinetic Kine which makes it convenient to drag around if need arises. A little warning here though, do not try to go out right now and buy one of these little pieces of fun because the Kinetic Kine has been discontinued for manufacturing because the Indians have somehow all grown up and now loathe the kind of fun offered by the little Kinetic Kine .
The Kinetic Kine used to come with a full platter of features that made it a distinct cultural landmark especially of the neo urbanised Indian classes. The features pasted onto the article board of the Kinetic Kine were truly reflective of the needs of these new classes of people that sprang all over Indian in the mid eighties to the end nineties period that saw a rapid economic boom.
One of these features that later sprang up on the Kinetic Kine was a mobile charging point. Although it seems like a small little thing but it is highly thoughtful to have placed something of this sort on a bike like this. Imagine having to drag yourself around town to find a car charger that fails to work every other week. On the other hand, the Kinetic Kine offered you a one stop charging point with the same reliability all year around.
Another little thing that the Kinetic Kine possessed was a cola can holding cubby hole. Again it is not something huge like reinventing the wheel or something but it sure makes the Kinetic Kine one little thoughtful device to run around with on a hot summer day with a cola can for that special loved one.
Now here is another feature that will surely stun you. The Kinetic Kine used to feature puncture free tires. Not the kind that the armoured luxury sedans like the BMW 5, 6 and 7 series offer as run flats but the kind of tires that come with a new Kinetic Kine and never let you down at all. How convenient. No hassles of having to drag your punctured Kinetic Kine to the nearest tire puncture shop in the sweltering heat or the numbing cold at all.
The Kinetic Kine came equipped with a rather simple and affordable 72 cc gasoline engine that was all that you could really ask for. The engine boasted a single cylinder with two simple valves on both sides and the overall configuration was a two stroke engine. The Kinetic Kine engine was air cooled and a small grille helped it to run along without any water or other coolant hassles all day and all night. The small engine of the Kinetic Kine produced a measly 4.2 hp and a maximum torque of some 5.7 Nm which is all one really needs to carry oneself around. All the other power that vehicle engines make carry your ego around and not you. A rather simple battery was attached to the entire system that had a standard 12 V format and boasted some 5 Ah.
The transmission of the Kinetic Kine was a gearless automatic type which meant that all you had to do was to press the accelerator and nothing more at all. This could take you all around time without having to pause for changing gears here and there at all.
